Australian rock royalty The Screaming Jets and AHA Newcastle Hunter came together at The Stag & Hunter Hotel this morning to officially launch the AHA Newcastle Hunter – Paul Woseen Memorial Music Grant.
Local artists Poppi Kent and Josi Veneziano, who together form folk-inspired duo Chain Daisy, were today announced as inaugural recipients of the AHA Newcastle Hunter – Paul Woseen Memorial Music Grant.The duo was among 40 local artists who applied for the grant program, reaffirming the strength of Newcastle’s up-and-coming live music industry.

An the alternative indie-folk group, based in Mulubinba (Newcastle) are seamlessly working their way up in the local music scene. Since their inception, Chain Daisy have graced iconic local venues such as The Oriental Hotel, performed at the 2024 New Annual Festival opening, as well as debuting Newcastle’s West best bloc Festival from 2022 to 2024. With a spellbinding blend of both alternative indie folk originals and reimagined covers, their enchanting harmonies and distinctive guitar lines create an unforgettable experience, leaving listeners mesmerized with every performance. Chain Daisy is truly a band that weaves magic through music.
