Chloe Gill, an independent folk/country rock artist based in Newcastle, Australia, proudly announces the release of her debut album, I Have a Habit of Dreaming, with a show at The Stag & Hunter on Fri 17th April with special guest Aunty Alan.

The album delves into her personal metamorphosis, exploring universal human experiences - growth, love, heartbreak, hope, fear and the complexities of this neurodivergence. Each track opens a window into Chloe’s inner world, weaving together daydreams, nightmares, aspirations, and snapshots of her own life. She hopes the record resonates with anyone who has ever felt different or out of place, offering a sense of connection and understanding.

Chloe Gill is a sophisticated artist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter unafraid to keep her music raw and honest. Deeply committed to the craft, she pours her heart into every track, hoping her listeners find solace and recognition in her stories. Wise beyond her years, her lyrics carry an emotional maturity that sets her apart and cements her as a must-see artist.

I Have a Habit of Dreaming is a ten-track album that showcases the sophisticated artistry of Chloe Gill. Moving between folk rock, country, blues, pop and indie rock, the record draws these threads together into a sound that’s unmistakably her own, anchored by her distinctive voice.

Throughout the album, Chloe draws on the sonic spirit of artists such as Gang of Youths, John Mayer, Imogen Heap, Missy Higgins and Jeff Buckley, while carving out a style that feels personal to her.

Joining her for this album launch is the amazing Aunty Alan. Aunty Alan is a solo explorative project that traverses the space between folk & shoegaze. Vocally, Aunty Alan’s approach sits deeply within creating interesting interweaved melodies that complement dissonance and ethereal chord progressions. Her sound gently echoes artists like Nai Palm (Hiatus Kaiyote), Radiohead & Crumb, forming her self-titled genre of whimsical fairy rock.
