The Songwriter Prize Newcastle Semi Final

The Songwriting Prize, now in its 9th year, is Australia's largest live music songwriting

competition, and the first with a mental health focus. Brought to you by award-winning mental health music charity Listen Up Music. After a record-breaking year - receiving 444 artist entries, it’s time to hear the cream of the crop from your region at this Semi Final, one of seven taking place across the country.

The events are especially unique, with the coming together of a community to support artists who will perform their short-listed song on the theme of ‘Acceptance’. You will hear the story behind each song, the songs performed live, and a judging panel will give feedback after each entrant's song. At the culmination of the evening, the top 2 will progress to the Grand Final and be in with a shot of $50k of prizes.
