The Songwriting Prize 2026 - Newcastle Final

Now in its 11th year, The Songwriting Prize, presented by the award-winning mental health music charity Listen Up Music, is more than just a competition. It's a vibrant community where songwriters can share their personal stories through music, all while showcasing some of Australia's finest songwriting talent to delighted audiences.
 

Each year, songwriters are invited to submit original works based on a specific theme. This year, we're exploring "The Next Chapter", a theme that promises to inspire powerful and introspective musical narratives.

Your line up is:  Brian Daly, Cameron Marshall, Cassie Corder, Cat Mead, Chloe Neilsen, Deih Hudson, Jules of the Tide, The Monty Shambles, North and Elsewhere, and The Quokkas.

A live panel of esteemed industry judges will provide valuable feedback on each performance. The overall winner from this event will be announced on the night, and will share in a prize pool of over $65,000.

With Regional Final events taking place in 10 locations across the country, join us to experience an unforgettable evening of live performances featuring the best songs from your region.
